║ LPE SPECIAL NOTES: ║
╙──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────╜
1 - When you are using pre-printed business envelopes with the
return address or logo already printed, be sure to set the
program's return address to blank lines. This way, only the
destination address will be printed!
2 - Sometimes you have to turn your INK CONTROL up a little when
printing envelopes. ( the control which forces more toner to
be released when printing ). Be sure to turn it back down for
regular paper to save TONER.
3 - When you print from a MAILING LIST text file, you are only
using names and addresses you have made yourself from your
favorite text editor. Just be sure that you saved your text in
ASCII TEXT MODE ( WORD PERFECT or MS WORD ). Here are the
rules you must follow for these MAILING LIST text files:
a - The VERY FIRST CHARACTER in the text file becomes the
NAME SEPERATOR character.
Valid characters are: ~!@#$%^&*()_+`-={}|[]\:";'<>?,./
and the SPACE character.
Don't use any other character, you will waste your time.
b - Each name in your list MUST be preceeded by at least ONE
LINE which starts with the NAME SEPERATOR character. This
is called a SEPERATOR LINE.
c - You can put as many SEPERATOR LINES as you want before
each name in your list.
d - SEPERATOR LINES are treated as COMMENTS up to the carriage
return at the end of each line. You may type anything you
want on these lines ( after the SEPERATOR CHARACTER ).
Maximum length of SEPERATOR LINE = 82 chars.
e - Don't make any address more than 6 lines tall. Six lines
should handle 99% of your address requirements.
f - Don't make any address line more than 40 characters wide.
After 40, you are getting too close to the edge of your
envelope. Your absolute line limit is 82 characters long.
g - The VERY LAST line of your file SHOULD NOT end with a
NAME SEPERATOR character.
h - The sister file on this disk; "LPE.TXT" is a little
example of a VALID MAILING LIST text file.

4 - Every effort was made to make this program as reliable
as possible. Should you find any bugs, please FAX the bug
report to:
E.T.S. Inc.
FAX: ( 801 ) 265-8921 24 hr fax line.
5 - Your comments are welcome. If you find an application where
this program could be improved to meet, please FAX the
possible enhancement to the FAX line above.
6 - When printing multiple envelopes on laser printers, the
printer can accept the data from the computer MUCH FASTER
than it can print each envelope! Don't be suprised when the
computer screen shows that the print job is finished when
you are only at address 10 out of a job of 100! Your printer
still has a lot of work to do.
7 - Use the MANUAL FEED selection in the program most often.
You will find this to be the best way for envelopes.
Before the printer prints, you should see a message on the
printer that says something like: "FEED LETTER", and the
printer lights look funny compared to normal. This is just
fine, it's supposed to do that.
8 - You should have good luck addressing birthday cards and
such, we do them all the time. Just turn your TONER FEED
control to DARKER ( like a photocopy-machine ) if you think
that the printing is TOO LIGHT.
9 - LPE saves certain information everytime you quit the program.
* Return Address
* Destination Address
* Size of envelope
* Colors for the screen
* Printer Tray selection
* Printer Type selection
* Printer Port
* Downloaded Landscape FONT
The file which contains this information is: `LPE.OVL'.
If you erase this file, you will do no damage.
10 - If you want to use your own downloaded soft fonts:
1 - Your font should be 14-16 point size, LANDSCAPE.
2 - Your font file should end with `.SFL' which means:
Soft Font Landscape.
3 - Copy your desired soft fonts to the LPE directory.
4 - Do not deviate from the above, or you will not
like the results.
5 - Our font is called LPE.SFL. We included only one whih
this un-registered copy.
Thank you:
